Airport Outfit ✈

Some people treat dressing for travel like dressing for an evening at the ritz. Others, like to sport the whole just-woke-up-am-actually-still-in-pjs ensemble. For long hall flights especially, comfort is key for me. Anything that allows me to curl up in a tiny ball and sleep is a winner. This outfit isn't particularly interesting, however it may give any of you travelling this Summer some ideas. The bandana I think is a great way to keep your hair out of your face without wearing a full on hat. Also boots or shoes that can be easily slipped off and a bag big enough to fit all your travel essentials.

They grin, but they don't mean it

If I am honest, I really don't like doing outfit posts. Picking an outfit is stressful, taking the photographs can be awkward and I always end up looking back on my outfit posts in horror at the way I look. Yet they are by far my favourite posts to read on others' blogs, so I figure they make for the best content. Although I do always look in envy at how great outfit posts look on other blogs. This outfit is very casual and simple but that is why I like it. Sometimes I think the less thought through looks are the better ones. Please excuse the two-year-old shoes, they looked sad in the shop and I love cats so...

A hint of spring...

So I think it's become somewhat of a tradition here on my blog to get waaayy too excited for upcoming seasons at leased two months in advance. So now that spring isn't in the too distant future, and it was actually sunny the other day (I know), I felt a 'spring' outfit post was most definitely necessary. I realise grey isn't exactly thought of as a sunny colour, but jumping straight into florescents seemed a tad eager. It also wasn't quite warm enough for my legs to come out of their 6 month hibernation, unfortunately black tights aren't exactly fitting with this look, but they were needed.

Since the new collections for spring have been popping up everywhere, I have noticed that technicolour has been the outstanding newbee. Also, a very hard trend to pull off. This outfit in no way would fit into the realm of 'technicolour' but I do like the pops of coral on the skirt. I actually found this piece lying, neglected, at the bottom of my wardrobe. Yay me (channelling my inner London Tipton). The top I am wearing is a new addition. Me and my friend managed to both buy it in the sizable Brandy Melville on Kings Road, on separate shopping trips within the space of a week. A round of applause please for our co-ordination and telepathicness.

January snow

One of the things I don't understand and will never understand is people who don't like snow. Okay sure, if you were older person whose mobility was was dependent on dry pavements or even if you just don't like being in a blizzard and getting soaked. I can understand that. But as far as just disliking snow because it is 'messy', what? It is like a gorgeous, big, shimmering blanket covering everything ugly and grey about a place. I love it. I sometimes could easily just sit and stare at it falling for hours on end. Snow could gets it's timing a little more accurate though. How much more obvious can we make it that we all want a white Christmas? But no. You wait all December long and then as soon as January comes, BAM. We have a blizzard. So when this annual annoyance came about this year, me and Shona made the most of it. Also welcome to my new favourite coat. It was a gift from mother santa this year and I think it ties up any wintery outfit nicely. A gorgeous winter coat(s) is a staple for any wardrobe.

It's begining to look alot like Christmas...

My excitement for Christmas tends to grow from about February. So now that the countdown is less than a week, I am constantly on the verge of an excitable breakdown. I bought this dress a few weeks ago to go to an awards ceremony with my good friends. I didn't realize how Christmasy it was until it came, and loved it so much, thought it deserved it's own post. Paired with this gorgeous Fiorelli purse given to me by the lovely Rosa, I think these two make the perfect outfit for any festive parties at this time.

Christmas trees are possibly my favourite things ever. Okay, so I say that about almost everything, but really, I love them loads. And decorating is one of the best parts of bringing the live tree into the house. I love our vast collection of decorations that we have accumulated over many years. Each ornament has sentimental or comedic meaning. The glitter covered pin cones made at age 5 are still hung proudly beside the expensive glass ones. Fairylights draped all over the tree in a big twinkling mass. At the end of it all, our tree is literally growing under the weight of festive trinkets. And I love it.

Wishing I was Made In Chelsea

London is with out a doubt one of my favourite cities. And within London, Chelsea (and South Kensington) is where I find myself spending the majority of my time. I can't seem to stay away from the endless supply of little boutique shops and cafes. There seems to be something dainty and new round every corner and I just love getting to explore it all. There is of course the quiet hope that I will bump into one of the Made In Chelsea crew during my ventures, but it is yet to happen *cries*. Maybe I will just move here instead....;)

I liked doing this exploring wearing this gorgeous denim smock dress found at Asos. It was perfect as it kept me warm and stylish on this crisp, Autumnal morning. I have to admit, I absolutely love smock dresses. While not being the most 'form flattering' they are endlessly comfy and cosy, for a dress. The type of denim used in this one hangs nicely too. The shoes worn in this post are a recent purchase of mine. Bought originally as a slight joke, they have actually become very frequent members of my daily outfits. I felt somewhat silly at first, as I saw a three year old with a Peppa pig balloon wearing matching ones on their first outing. However they have given many passers-by smiles, possibly of pity but oh well. You have to get your kicks from somewhere.

I guess Sir, if you say so, some of us just like to read.

 Stalking my own blog the other day (my schedule is packed, you can tell) I noticed a serious lack of 'outfit' posts. Considering this blog is marketed as a 'fashion' one I feel I have done wrong by it as of late. So to clear my conscience (and because I realised I hadn't yet given this gorgeous skirt it's well deserved debut) I photographed my first fully outfit post in a while. This actually happens to also be one of my 'go to' outfits. I absolutely love pairing this skirt with a plain knit, chunky boots and fitting accessories. It is very Autumnal and is surprisingly warm for those crisp Autumn days. Yay for a/w fashion trends.

It is very easy during colder days to subconsciously stick to wearing trousers and leggings and forget about dresses and skirts. I encourage you to brave it, and wear thick tights and a boyfriend coat instead. Some of the most beautiful, cosy outfits, consist of thick tights, chunky boots and a delicate skirt.

America remastered

So i found myself sitting the other day and wishing I was back in the sunny USA. This could be thanks to miss Bluebell who is currently wandering the streets of the big apple. She sucks. So anyway, I thought that I would share with you (again) some of my absolute favourite outfits from my time across the pond, not a very creative idea for a post I know, but I promise to put up something more interesting soon :))
